My kinoma create does not load SD card driver

edited September 2016 in Kinoma Create

Recently, my kinoma create does not get updates since April. It also lost Wi-Fi connection sometime. But after a few times of force reboot, it connects to Wi-Fi again. But now my kinoma create always fails to boot into GUI.

So I tried to log in by serial console, and found it fails to load SD/MMC Driver:

K [root@KINOMA 2.6.34]# insmod mmc_block.ko
[ 80.641229] mmc_block: exports duplicate symbol mmc_cleanup_queue (owned by kernel)
insmod: can't insert 'mmc_block.ko': invalid module format
K [root@KINOMA 2.6.34]#

K [root@KINOMA 2.6.34]# /bin/prepareSD.sh
[ 316.114518] mmc_block: exports duplicate symbol mmc_cleanup_queue (owned by kernel)
insmod: can't insert 'mmc_block.ko': invalid module format
insmod: can't insert 'jbd.ko': File exists
insmod: can't insert 'nls_base.ko': File exists
insmod: can't insert 'vfat.ko': File exists
insmod: can't insert 'nls_cp437.ko': File exists
insmod: can't insert 'ext2.ko': File exists
umount: can't umount /mnt/SD1: Invalid argument
umount: can't umount /mnt/SD2: Invalid argument
fdisk: can't open '/dev/mmcblk0'
mkfs.vfat: can't open '/dev/mmcblk0p1': No such file or directory
mkfs.ext2: can't open '/dev/mmcblk0p2': No such file or directory
K [root@KINOMA 2.6.34]#

I thinks there may be a mismatch between kernel version and module files, or the module file mmc_block.ko corrupts. Is there any solution to repair the problem?

I misunderstood the error message. I found a solution, just ignore the message. my kernel already recognizes /dev/mmcblk0 device, but for some reason, mmc_block.ko still exists. I think there may be a version mismatch between kernel and file system.

Anyway, I solved the problem and could make a bootable SD card, by executing these commands from the serial console:

    /bin/prepareSD.sh
    /bin/populateSD.sh
    /bin/makeSDBoot.sh
