KP4 only seems to offer the old 8.3 filename format. How do I change it to support long file names (like "Green elephants", as mentioned in the manual). Renaming every file after it gets converted is getting a bit annoying.

That's a bug introduced in recent versions of QuickTime, and our engineers are working with Apple engineers to get this fixed in a future QuickTime release. Sorry about the inconvenience!

Is there a work around this? It is EXTREMELY annoying to have to rename the files.

This was fixed earlier this year, and you'll just need to verify that you have the latest versions of both Kinoma Producer and QuickTime.
